The Carao is an indigenous tree that grows up to 30m high in the tropical dry forest.
The tree has a dense canopy and long pods. Butterflies, bees and birds are eagerly attracted to the pink blossoms full of nectar. Monkeys are crazy about the fruits. They hit the tree trunk with the large pod to get them.
